I was thrilled to be called to the SilverSea 2025 World Cruise aboard the Silver Dawn. One of our final destinations was Iceland but instead of sailing directly from the Faroe Islands to Reykjavik, we turned northward and headed into “my” fifth ocean: the Arctic! From there we visited two of Iceland’s northern Fjords, then the capital, Reykjavik, where we visited the Jewish Center there (a work-in-progress) and noticed, to our surprise, that the street lamps were shaped, more or less, like iron menorahs! Iceland is a popular tourist destination of late and it is starkly beautiful. But Antarctica still takes the cake.
